Have to revise my estimate UP, in regards to how many French people are visiting Porto ;-). And it would be pick-pockets dream with the amount of fanny-packs I have seen. And every time I travel recently, at least one of the countries is gearing up for an election LOL.

Had a nice visit to Guimaraes, and then Braga, they were filler-visits, as the tour to Santiago in Spain, was not going to happen :-(.

In the evening I topped of my visit to Porto/Portugal, with a Fado-performance and fancy-dinner....!!!!

Porto ou Paris?

Spent the day just wandering around the lower-half of the city. Visit to the impressive Se, > Cathedral, decorated with Azulejos.

Had a great tour of Palacio da Bolsa, but alas no pics allowed, but nice conversation with fellow English speaking tourists. Then walked down into the Ribeira area, for some serious shopping, and a “shudder”, meal of "TRIPE"! Back uptown again for some more shopping, and a visit to Mercado do Bolhao.

Then to the hotel, for the required siesta!! Then at supper was entertained by singing/drinking students ;-).

Today was up early to take the tour I booked yesterday. We took a train to Peso da Regua, then boarded the river-cruise ship. Had a great trip, with the sun again blasting down :-).

They served an awesome meal, with a history lesson to boot. Had a great conversation with another traveler, from the USA, almost was hungering to talk LOL.

We went thru several dam-locks, very cool, then into Porto with great bridge views.

Switched bases to Porto, a large industrial city, situated in a huge-steep river valley. Toured around a bit, a lot of similarity to Paris.

Had a tour of Sandeman, one of the oldest Port-Wine companies, with a wine tasting. The sun was blisteringly-hot again today!!!!
